Protest at Google's DC HQ During Sen. Inhofe Fundraiser Thursday
Washington, DC - On July 11, Forecast the Facts activists will protest Google's $250–$2500 per plate fundraiser at its DC headquarters for one of the worst climate deniers in the world: Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK). Google's corporate motto is "Don't Be Evil," and its chairman Eric Schmidt has said: "You can lie about the effects of climate change, but eventually you'll be seen as a liar." Google has been a corporate leader in fighting climate change pollution, and its support for liars like Inhofe is a glaring mistake.
Protesters will remind people of Google's professed culture of ethics, environmental stewardship, and respect for scientific truth which help make Google products so popular. They'll remind people of Sen. Jim Inhofe's long record of unethical environmental destruction and promotion of anti-scientific conspiracy theories on behalf of the likes of Koch Industries, his biggest corporate funder.
Forecast the Facts will also be delivering over 10,000 signatures of people from across the nation who are calling on Google CEO Larry Page to end his company's support for climate deniers like Inhofe.
